Jamont Atkins, 23, died early Saturday morning after he was hit in the head with a bowling ball during a fight. The incident occurred at Stelton Lanes in Piscataway, New Jersey. Apparently, someone threw a bowling ball in an altercation at the bowling alley and the ball hit Atkins in the head. According to the NY Daily News:
Jamont Atkins, of Newark, was found unconscious in a lane at Stelton Lanes in Piscataway after cops arrived to break up the melee sometime 1:30 a.m., Middlesex County prosecutors said....
Jamont Atkins was knocked unconscious after a bowling ball was hurled at his head during the brawl at Stelton Lanes early Saturday, according to Tajh Harvey, the promoter who hosted a party dubbed “The College Bowling Bash" at the bowling alley that morning.
Atkins died an hour after being taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Apparently, Atkins had been in a relationship with a woman for over six years and social media was flooded with messages from the woman mourning the death of Atkins.
