He is best known to American audiences for his 1977 interviews with Richard Nixon wherein he got Nixon to apologize. His story was the basis for the 2006 play <em> Frost/Nixon</em>, which went on to become the 2008 Academy Award-nominated movie of the same, starring Michael Sheen and Frank Langella. Beyond Nixon, he also interviewed the last Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, and hosted a discussion with Muammar Gaddafi of Libya. -
