Amanda Catherine Hein has been charged with criminal homicide of her newborn baby. On August 18, Hein was watching a pay-per-view wrestling event at Starters Pub in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, when she began to give birth. She told her group that she was experiencing back pain and went to the bathroom. While there, Hein gave birth to the baby boy.
Hein then allegedly proceeded to wrap her newborn son in a plastic bag from a garbage container and place him in the toilet tank, according to the New York Post.
A cleaning crew found the baby's body on August 19. The infant, who was at 33-36 weeks gestation, had been born alive, according to CBS.
According to one of the men Hein was with, the woman left the bathroom with blood visible on her. He offered to take her to the hospital, but after she declined saying that she didn't have insurance, he took her home.
The accused told police that no one knew she was pregnant or that she gave birth in the bathroom.
