A video making the rounds on the Internet depicts a Chinese public execution. A crowd gathers as police pull a man wearing a placard out of a van. They turn him around so onlookers see the alleged criminal. The police then put the man on his knees and shoot him in the back of the head. One of the officers then takes a photo of the body.
Business Insider reported that the footage was taken in November 2012. The Wall Street Journal's China Real Time blog added that the people in the village appear to speak a dialect found in Chinese province of Guizhou.
According to The Daily Mail, Amnesty International claims the number of people China executes a year could be in the thousands. The Chinese government never reveals numbers that reflect the actual amount.
