Gunman Firing Randomly in North Houston; Suspect Apprehended

A gunman reportedly opened fire on people at a mobile home community in North Houston, Texas, reports KHOU this morning. Just before noon, officers took the suspect into custody following a shoot-out.

1. Eyewitnesses Say Three People Have Been Shot

According to eye-witness accounts, three people had been shot during the spree. Having said that,  Houston police have only confirmed that one woman was shot by suspect.

 


 

2. The Gunman Had Multiple Weapons

According to Fox Houston, the man, who wore a blue shirt and jeans, carried a handgun in a holster, Police have also stated that the shooter has multiple weapons. A black Ford Expedition and a police car were struck by bullets. A resident at the scene, with Twitter handle @_nataliaa03 has live-tweeted from her home.

 

 

The shooting happened close to a city park and a fire station.


3. A Shoot-Out Ensued as Suspect Shot at Police

Click2Houston.com reports that the man was cornered in a mobile home by a SWAT team. HPD spokesperson Jodi Silva said, “As officers responded, they were fired upon by the suspect, who fired several shots at arriving police cars.”



5. Shooting Occurred Following a ‘Domestic Dispute’

FOX 26 reporter John Donnelly reports that the shooting incident resulted from a domestic dispute. The woman injured has been taken to the hospital in unknown condition. Her relationship to the suspect has not been revealed.

This is the Latest in a Spate of Shootings in North Houston

This incident is occurring just 30 miles from Greens Parkway where two people were killed and another wounded in another North Houston shooting on July 18.

On July 30, another man was killed in a shooting just 15 miles away from the OakTree Mobile Estates.
