Christopher Lane, 22, was gunned down on Friday, August 16, outside Oklahoma City. An Australian baseball player, Lane was a star athlete in the United States to play college ball and jumpstart a promising business career.
In the wake of his death shocking details have emerged about the trio of teenagers who allegedly killed him for sport.
Here is what you need to know:
1. He Was Shot in the Back While on a Run
Christopher Lane went on a jog at around 3 p.m. Friday on Country Club Road in Duncan, Oklahoma. He was found shortly after, face-down, with what is believed to be a small-caliber revolver bullet wound in his lower back.

The three teens were reportedly "bored" and "decided to kill somebody," according to a statement from the 17-year-old. Below is a Vine discovered of James Edwards, 15, flaunting a large rifle with a scope.
In the statement given by Michael Jones, the eldest of the three suspects, he said that the three teens were in a house less than a half-mile from where Lane was found, when they saw him jog by. The three suspects then got into a car and followed Lane down the street. According to the testimony, the 16-year-old shot Lane in the back, and the car drove off.
Their social media presence seem to suggest an involvement with the Crip street gang like in this Vine made by suspect James Edwards:
The three were later apprehended after security camera footage led them to the car suspected to have been used in the crime.
Parents of Edwards and Luna have expressed doubts as to their children's involvement in the crime.
According to Ucan Chicago, 44 percent of American teens said they could get their hands on a handgun if they wanted to.
3. He Was Visiting His Girlfriend in Duncan
Christopher Lane was in Duncan, Oklahoma, visiting his girlfriend, Sarah Harper, and her family. The two had been dating for four years when Lane was shot on Friday. "I'm numb," Harper told AAP this weekend. When asked about his killers she told reporters, "I really don't care what happens to them. I feel that if they don't get what they deserve now in the present the will eternally."
4. He Played Baseball for East Central University
Christopher Lane was attending East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, on a baseball scholarship. He studied finance and had told his father he was thinking of staying in the United States after he finished college to begin a career in real estate.
He was a talented baseball player who was a starting catcher for the East Central University Tigers. He started 14 games last season between February 1, 2013, and April 13, 2013. He had a respectable batting average of .250.
5. His Father Made a Heartbreaking Speech
"His life being taken away is just so f*cking pointless," said Christopher Lane's father in a question and answer segment after a speech made on Saturday. With tears in his eyes the entire time, he talked about his son's love of baseball, politics and his girlfriend, describing their relationship as being like "an old married couple."
