Andrew Silverman is the estranged husband of Simon Cowell's babymama Lauren Silverman. A real estate mogul and multi-millionaire, Silverman had filed for divorce from his wife citing her relationship with the Brit-talent show judge.
Here's what you need to know about him...

According to Gossip Cop, Silverman's main priority is the seven-year-old son he has with his wife Lauren, Silverman released a statement on August 1 stating:
My top priority is protecting my 7-year-old son while working to resolve all outstanding issues with my wife. Hopefully people can respect the interest of our child during this process.
Sometime later his estranged wife released a virtually identical statement saying:
I am committed to sorting things out with Andrew as amicably as possible to ensure the well-being of our son. I would hope for some space and privacy in order to work through this.
The Daily News reported that the couple met on August 1 at their Hamptons residence, brought together for a summit by their seven-year-old son. The News also showed photos of a visibly pregnant (with Simon Cowell's baby) walking around the Hamptons with her son.
Silverman appeared to reporters outside his Bridgehampton home on August 2 telling them:
Please respect my family's privacy, I have a 7-year-old son. ... This is a very difficult time. Please keep your distance.
2. He is a New York Real Estate Tycoon
Silverman is the Chief Investment Officer at The Andalex Group, who maintain offices at 430 Park Avenue in New York City (above), according to their homepage:
Andrew is responsible for The Andalex Group’s strategic financial structuring involving foreign and domestic financial partners, lenders and institutions. In his role, he oversees numerous transactions, leading financial analysis and due diligence efforts while working with lenders to secure acquisition and construction loan financing.
In addition, he manages all aspects of leasing for properties within The Andalex Group’s portfolio. Andrew also holds responsibility for the disposition of a property when it has reached its peak in the investment cycle. Andrew began his career on the trading floor of Credit Lyonnais while completing his B.A. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
Silverman holds the same postion at a company called Silver Entertainment and Gaming.
Andalex is described as:
The Andalex Group was founded in 1989 and specializes in the acquisition, development, construction management of all property types. The firm’s portfolio includes more than 4.5 million sf of space including the 400,000-sf 101 Avenue of the Americas in Lower Manhattan, Sylvan Corporate Center in Englewood Cliffs, NJ and Arris Lofts in Long Island City, NY.
His brother, Allen, on behalf of the company has made political contributions to Sen. Chuck Schumer.
3. He Didn't Know How Long His Wife's Alleged Affair Was Going On
TMZ reported on August 2 that Silverman was "shocked" when he saw photos the gossip site post of Simon Cowell and his estranged wife kissing on a boat way back in August 2012. TMZ says:
We're told Andrew feels humiliated that Lauren and his former good friend Simon had been sneaking around behind his back for so long.
The revelation of these pics negated claims by Lauren Silverman's camp that her and Cowell only began knocking boots AFTER she believed her marriage was over.
Back then, The Daily Mail reported on Simon Cowell being a guest of the Silvermans on their super-yacht.
4. He Was Once Sued by Tenants Who Claimed 'Boiling Water Was Coming Out of the Toilet.'
In 2010, a luxury set of condos, Arris Lofts (above), developed by Andalex in Long Island City in Queens, New York were beset with problems. A group of owners banded together to launch a lawsuit against Silverman and co. The Daily News reported at the time that:
Residents of the 237-unit building have complained about issues ranging from soundproofing to boiling hot water coming out of the toilets, Sladkus said.
They also accused the developer of using condominium funds to foot construction bills and pay guards to keep tabs on building materials - costs the developer should have paid for, residents said.
The incident caused further embarrassment when it was revealed the four out of the five members of the condo board were employees of Andalex, the same board that failed to deal with the initial complaints. Then in true despotic fashion, the board canceled elections after the lawsuit was filed.
The $20 million lawsuit was eventually settled out of court.
The New York Sun reported on Andalex's development of the space in 2007:
Perhaps the largest conversion of a commercial building into a residential condominium is the Arris Lofts, the former Eagle Electric building, which is a development of the Andalex Group. The property was converted into 237 condominium units. According to real estate sources, more than 35 units have been sold for more than $1 million and a few have traded for $2 million — possibly the highest price ever achieved for a condominium apartment in Long Island City.
5. Silverman is Accusing His Wife of Being 'Cruel and Inhuman'
In the divorce, that Silverman is pressing ahead with, he accuses his wife of being "cruel and inhuman" in her treatment toward him, as well as naming Simon Cowell in the papers. Perhaps the meeting at Silverman's $4 million mansion in Bridgehampton, New York suggests the couple are trying to work things out.
The Daily Mail reports that:
This is not a situation where they are not together and Simon will just pay for their child. They are a couple. But, there are no marriage plans at the moment.
