David Traywick, the younger brother of singer Randy Travis, has been arrested for allegedly operating a meth lab out of his North Carolina home, even as his famous big brother clings to life in the hospital.
Here's what you should know about David Traywick and his most recent transgressions.
1. Cops Found A Math Lab Inside His Home
David Traywick, 50, was arrested on Tuesday afternoon, July 16, after sheriff's deputies searched his home and found a suspected meth lab inside. He lives on the 6300 block of Fountain Hill Church Road in Union County, North Carolina.
2. His Wife Also Got Busted
Along with David, two women also were arrested. This included Traywick's wife, Jessica, 45, and Christina Marie Stegall, 30. The Traywicks were jailed under a $500,000 bond each, charged with trafficking meth and conspiracy to do the same. Stegall was charged similarly but was held on $250,000 bond.
3. David Traywick Was Busted for Meth-Cooking Last September
4. And He Also Was Arrested a Month Before That
David Traywick also was arrested on August 27, 2012. He allegedly was picked up by police for "communicating threats and second degree trespassing." He was released on a $500 bail bond. Details of that arrest have not been released.
5. Randy Travis Has Bigger Problems Than His Brother
Randy Travis (originally Randy Bruce Traywick) is the older brother of the alleged meth producer. Randy is four years older than David. Travis, a country music icon whose hits like "Forever and Ever, Amen" were once ubiquitous on the radio and saloon jukeboxes alike, is hospitalized suffering from life-threatening heart issues and recovering from stroke. He's had his own brushes with the law in recent years, including an embarrassing drunken-driving incident that saw him buck naked and belligerent in the street after crashing a '98 Trans Am.
