Kevin and Marina Krim, the New York City parents of two children that were murdered by their nanny last year, announced that they are expecting a baby boy, reports The Washington Post.
Marina Krim found her children, 6-year-old Lulu and 2-year-old Leo, dead in a pool of blood in their Upper West Side apartment bathtub on Oct. 25, 2012 and their nanny, Yoselyn Ortega, with a slashed throat and wrists. Her third child, 4-year-old Nessie, was with her mother and unharmed. The 50-year-old nanny pleaded not guilty, but a trial date has not yet been set.
Now, Mr. and Mrs. Krim are ready to welcome a new addition to their family.
"Nessie can't wait to welcome her new baby brother," the couple wrote on their Facebook page, the Lulu and Leo Fund. "We are filled with many emotions as we look to the future, but the most important one is hope."
Following their childen's tragic death, the Krims have spent months in healing and have used the Facebook page as an outlet for their grief.
"We are hopeful that 2013 will be a year of healing, growth and peace," they wrote on Jan. 3. "Today, we are leaving on a RV trip with some friends to cross the country from L.A. back to N.Y.C. Along the way, we are hoping to experience some inspiring moments that will help us with our healing and rebuilding when we get back to N.Y.C."
