The 28-year-old son of a Florida obstetrician is facing a first-degree murder charge for allegedly tricking his girlfriend into taking an abortion pill.

John Andrew Welden’s ex-girlfriend, Remee Lee, 26, tells WPTV that when she became pregnant, Welden took her to his dad’s office, where she got a sonogram and a blood test.

The next day, Welden allegedly told her she had a bacterial infection. On Good Friday he brought her a bottle of Amoxicillin, advising her to take three pills a day for three days.

But he had allegedly filled the bottle with abortion pills — Cytotec — which Lee calls his “weapon of choice.” He even scratched off markings on the pills to make them unidentifiable.

Lee says she woke up in a pool of blood on Easter Morning, rushed to the hospital and learned her unborn child’s heart was not beating.

“Everyone dreams of being a mom, this was my chance,” said Lee, who is also filing a civil suit against Welden.

Welden worked at his father’s office, in a weight-loss center connected to the OB practice. His father is not suspected of any wrongdoing.
