A Montana man has pleaded guilty to waterboarding four boys in simulated-drowning exercises that he allegedly described as a “learning experiences.”
The Independent Record reports that 42-year-old William Albert Province struck a plea deal that sentenced him to two years of probation for four misdemeanor counts of child endangerment. He will serve no further jail time after spending 80 days behind bars.
Felony charges related to alleged threats he made were dropped.
According to reports from late December, Province was arrested as he exited a plane at the Helena Regional Airport and:
…allegedly made threats regarding a school, a state Child Protective Services office and the home of the foster parent of his children
Province was also suspected of owning body armor, assault weapons and armor-piercing bullets.
On December 5, a woman allegedly walked in on Province waterboarding a boy at the suspect’s home outside Jefferson City. She described Province straddling a victims, covering the boy’s face and mouth, and dumping water on him. She allegedly suffered a broken wrist and fingers trying to stop the attack.
