Georgia Plane Crash

A small jet carrying seven people crashed in Georgia as it was landing and ran off the runway, killing five of those on board, reports News Channel 6.

The plane, a Hawker Beechcraft 390/Premier I, ran off the end of the runway around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night as it was landing at the Thomson McDuffie County Airport. Assistant County Fire Chief Stephen Sewell told The Augusta Chronicle that there were at least two survivors, but gave no further details.

The plane was coming from John C. Tune Airport in Nashville, Tennessee, 350 miles away. A probable cause has yet to be determined.
