In Bulgaria, opposition party Movement for Rights, was holding a convention to elect new party leaders. Current and long-time party leader Ahmed Dogan was on stage when a 25-year-old with a gun (and two hidden knives) jumped on stage and attempted to assassinate Dogan, pointing the gun at his head.
Fortunately, things fell apart from there and the gunner was taken down. Dogan is completely fine.
The MRF is a liberal party that represents ethnic Turks and other Muslims or about 12 percent of Bulgaria’s population.
