There's a new twist in the rape allegation against Cee Lo Green, according to TMZ.
The "Forget You" singer is accused of sexual battery — alleged to have slipped Ecstasy to a woman he met in a Los Angeles restaurant and then forced her to have sex with him.
His accuser claims she has a recorded phone conversation between her and Green, in which Cee Lo admits drugging her with MDMA. TMZ reports:
Sources involved in the case represent to TMZ ... Cee Lo is on tape, repeatedly apologizing and referencing MDMA (Ecstasy) -- though he does not specifically say he put it in her drink.
Ecstasy would be an odd choice for a date-rape drug. The accuser is claiming she awoke naked in Cee Lo's bed, whereas MDMA is a stimulant that keeps you awake.
The word from Green's entourage is that the same woman called the singer's manager looking to extort money, and when she was refused, she went to the LAPD. Despite some inaccuracies, L.A. cops are investigating the claims and waiting until they have enough information to turn the case over to the district attorney.
