April Jones was a five-year-old Welsh girl was abducted from the Bryn-y-Gog estate in Machynlleth, Wales on Monday evening. 46-year-old former lifeguard Mark Bridger has been arrested and charged with her murder, kidnapping, and perverting the course of justice.
Chief Constable Jackie Roberts called this, "one of the most complex and fast moving inquiries in the history of our force." And kudos to the police for getting their alleged guy so quickly. Sometimes these incredibly tragic and horrific crimes drag on and on causing more pain and grief. As devastating as the event is, at least the police were completely on the ball for this one.
Roberts continued in her press conference saying that it was now time for judicial system' to take over and for the family to begin coping with what they've had to deal with in less then week. But the job of the police isn't over yet. April Jones still hasn't been found. As Roberts put it, "Our efforts to find April will be as meticulous as they have been from the outset of this inquiry until we have exhausted all available options."
