Officials are still trying to figure out where, or what, a gigantic eyeball the size of a grapefruit that washed up on the shores of Pompano Beach in Florida on Wednesday came from. Gino Covacci was walking along the beach when he spotted the eye and gave it to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to figure it out.
It's probably from a giant squid or a really big fish, but it's more fun to think that it might've come from some sort of sea monster. Hey, it's still better than finding a lame seashell.
It will be studied by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute in St. Petersburg to determine the source.
