Going into the 2012 presidential election, there were many questions surrounding Mitt Romney’s campaign. Questions like, would he be able to gain some ground with people in lower economic classes despite his economic policies? Would the Republican stance on women’s issues make it impossible for Mitt to capture the support of female voters? And most importantly, what does Nicki Minaj think? Well, we can now answer one of those questions.
Nicki Minaj seems to have come out in support of Mitt Romney for the 2012 campaign. In a track she did on Lil’ Wayne’s mixtape called “Dedicaton 4” Minaj professes her support for the Republican nominee. Skip ahead to 1:38 to hear the lyric:
Minaj appears to be critical of Obama’s economic policy, rapping "I'm a Republican voting for Mitt Romney/ You lazy bitches is f**king up the economy." One can infer that she is a proponent of a more “Trickle Down” policy rather than higher tax rates for wealthier U.S. residents. Of course she ends the stanza with “Out in Miami I be chillin’ like a zombie,” so who knows what she really thinks (Pro-Zombie?).
Over the past several elections, Republicans have had some of the most random celebrity endorsements for their candidates. John McCain was able to garner support from Ted Nugent, Chuck Norris, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Daddy Yankee.
