Deadbeat Boxer: Holyfield Owes Half-Million in Child Support to 1 of His 11 Kids

Evander Holyfield, child support, boxer

Boxing champ Evander Holyfield just can’t seem to knock out his money problems.

The heavyweight legend is being held in contempt of court, according to TMZ, because he owes more than a half-million dollars in back child support for his 18-year-old daughter, Emani Holyfield.

The Georgia Department of Human Services initially went after Holyfield for owing $372,097 in back child support. However, recently-filed court documents say the amount is actually $563,900.91. Holyfield has to pay $2,950 a month to clear the debt, but he did start out with a check for $17,700 to sweeten the deal and knock some off the total.

The payment plan, though, won’t pay back what he owes anytime soon, so the judge ordered Holyfield’s income be earmarked to pay back even more of what he owes.

But don’t expect Holyfield’s child support woes to end soon. Emani is only one of the champ’s 11 children, and he hasn’t sent her any child support since 2010, according to officials.

Under Georgia law, people who fail to pay child support can face fines or even jail time.
