Jeff Ross as JoePa Roseanne Roast

Jeff Ross attended the recent Comedy Central Roast for Roseanne Barr dressed as Joe Paterno and accompanied by two shirtless young boys in football helmets. This apparently was the least offensive thing he did all day. Comedy Central had to cut one of his jokes about The Dark Knight Rises massacre in Aurora, Colorado.

Jeff Ross apparently compared Seth Green to James Holmes saying:

Seth, congratulations. This is actually a great night for you ... you haven’t gotten this much attention since you shot all those people in Aurora. ... I’m kidding. You are not like James Holmes. At least he did something in a movie theater that people remember!

That joke won't make it into the broadcast. Ross himself admitted that the joke crossed the line, but also noted that that's what roasts are for.

The roast will air August 12.

Did Jeff Ross go too far? Should Comedy Central have cut the joke? Is anything off limits to joke about? Let us know in the comments.
