Penguin Prison

Penguin Prison is singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Chris Glover, residing in NYC and making electro pop in the true sense of the term. Reminiscent of the quirky Hot Chip but with a much more soulful vocal delivery and songwriting recalling none other than Michael Jackson, making him something like a more electronic version of Justin Timberlake. Whoa! That was a lot of comparisons. His present career has involved many ups and downs, including highlights such as singing in a gospel choir with Alicia Keys, being discovered by Q-Tip, starting a 'fake boy band' and being signed to Interscope but delivering an album that was 'too crazy for them'.

Recently he has found a new home at Neon Gold Records who have just released his second single 'The Worse It Gets' and besides being one of the most wanted remixers out there right now, with remixes for Goldfrapp, Sebastien Tellier, Passion Pit, Marina & The Diamonds and Ellie Goulding - just to name a few - he is currently working on his debut album, recording in both London and New York, getting some support from nu-disco shooting stars Holy Ghost!. Penguin Prison is definitely one to watch and going by his label's 'breakthrough band' history, you'll see his name in capital letters all over the place some time later this year.

Listen to "Something I'm Not", the flipside of the new Penguin Prison single after the jump.
