2011 was the inaugural year for NYC's one-day mini festival, The Governors Ball. They must have done some things right because for 2012 it's a two day affair and in a much bigger space. Running June 23rd and 24th, the festival features Passion Pit, Duck Sauce and Chromeo headlining Saturday with sets from LCD Soundsystem / DFA folks James Murphy and Pat Mahoney, Diplo's Major Lazer, Santigold and Atmosphere. Sunday brings the indie set with Beck, Modest Mouse and Explosions In The Sky leading the charge along with Devendra Banhart, Cage The Elephant, Built To Spill, Cults, Phantogram and the return of Fiona Apple.
This year the show will be located at Randall's Island, the much larger cousin of last year's Governor's Island location. Tickets are already on sale, head here to purchase them and find out all the details.
