The Academy Award-winning special effects genius behind the lovable alien in Stephen Spielberg’s iconic ’80s masterpiece E.T. has died.
Carlo Rambaldi was 86 and passed away in southern Italy.
He was also the mind behind 1979’s Alien and 1976’s King Kong.
