Long story short: Sony wants to make Ghostbusters III but they're having trouble with the original director Ivan Reitman, MTV reports. Sony plans to make the film more appealing to the younger generation, which is a decision that doesn't sit well with Reitman. The original Ghostbusters actors (Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson) signed a deal in the 80's which allows them to approve or decline director and story decisions. So it's looking like the film is currently at a stand-still. Bummer.
In other news for Reitman, he'll be directing a romantic comedy starring Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman, Cinematical.com reports. The film will be called Friends With Benefits (She's Way Out of Your League might have been more appropriate).
