We finally have the first images of the on-set happenings surrounding the very anticipated sequel to 2005's on-screen adaptation of Frank Miller's highly regarded graphic novel Sin City.
In the images, we see Josh Brolin sitting in a green-screen car, and then afterwards--the images were released on Robert Rodriguez's twitter--we see the preliminary "finished" image with rain and car enveloping Brolin's hardened stare.

Brolin is new to the series and is playing a younger version of Dwight McCarthy, who was played in the first film by Clive Owen. While Owen isn't returning to the sequel/prequel, Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson and Mickey Rourke are all back to reprise their roles from the original film.
They'll join fresh faces to the series: Brolin, Juno Temple, Jeremy Piven and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Says current Hollywood superstar Gordon-Levitt of his first time working with Rodriguez (MTV):
Sin City 2' is going to be fun. [I'm playing] a quintessential Rodriguez badass. It's going to be fun as hell.
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is slated for October of this year.
