Arnold Schwarzenegger to Go Back to His Roots in ‘Legend of Conan’

Arnold Schwarzenegger will reprise the role that kickstarted his movie career 30 years ago after agreeing to again play Conan in The Legend of Conan, reports Deadline.

Arnold starred in the ridiculous but awesome Conan the Barbarian in 1982, and the rest is history: Terminator … Total Recall … Kindergarten Cop.

Now he’s going back to his roots.

Universal’s Legend of Conan will be produced by Fredrik Malmberg and Chris Morgan, the writer/producer tied to the last four Fast and Furious movies.

Deadline’s Mike Fleming reports:

“The original ended with Arnold on the throne as a seasoned warrior, and this is the take of the film we will make,” Malmberg told me. “It’s that Nordic Viking mythic guy who has played the role of king, warrior, soldier and mercenary, and who has bedded more women than anyone, nearing the last cycle of his life. He knows he’ll be going to Valhalla, and wants to go out with a good battle.”
