Jon Olav Einemo and Dave Herman could consider their joint UFC debuts to be a resounding success, as both fighters took home $70,000 bonuses after being awarded the Fight of the Night for UFC 131.

Herman came back from the bring of defeat to finish Einemo in a thrilling heavyweight bout on the main card.

Canadian Sam Stout knocked out Yves Edwards on the Spike-televised prelims to earn the KO of the Night award. It was a vicious knockout that left Edwards eyes-open on the canvas in a horrifying stare.

“That was one of the most stunning knockouts in UFC history. It may have been the most stunning knockout in our history,” Dana White said.

Middleweight super-prospect Chris Weidman earned the Submission of the Night award for his first-round standing guillotine submission win over Jesse Bongfeldt. Weidman, who moves to 2-0 in the UFC and is undefeated in his MMA career, said that he injured his knee in during the fight.

The total attendance for the event was 14,685 for a total gate of $2.8 million.
