Another 155-pound fighter has dropped to the featherweight division.
Darren Elkins is dropping to the 145-pound weight class and likely faces Michihiro Omigawa at UFC 131.
MMAJunkie.com first reported the news and Heavy.com has independently confirmed it with sources close to the bout.
Elkins has a 12-2 record. He went 1-1 as a lightweight in the UFC, defeating Duane “Bang” Ludwig in his debut. He’s coming off a submission loss to Charles Oliveira.
Omigawa recently returned to the UFC three years after he went 0-2 in the organization as a lightweight in 2007-2008. He lost by unanimous decision to Chad Mendes in his last outing at UFC 126 on Feb. 5.
UFC 131 is expected to take place on June 11 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia and is headlined by heavyweights Brock Lesnar and Junior Dos Santos.
