Dan Miller vs. Joe Doerksen In The Works For UFC 124

A middleweight tilt between Dan Miller and Joe Doerksen is set for UFC 124 this December.

MMAjunkie.com learned of the match up earlier today from sources close to the event.

Doerksen returned to the UFC after several fights away from the promotion at UFC 113 against Tom Lawlor. He survived a brutal first round to earn the submission victory in the second. However, he failed to build off the win after being submitted in the opening round of his contest with C.B. Dollaway at UFC 119.

Meanwhile, Miller recently rebounded from a string of losses with a second round submission victory over John Salter at UFC 118. The victory snapped a three-fight losing streak that had Miller’s career with the UFC in trouble. However, the level of competition he was facing clearly played a role in the UFC’s leniency.

UFC 124 is set for the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and features a welterweight title bout between champion Georges St. Pierre and top contender Josh Koscheck. Miller’s brother, lightweight contender Jim Miller, is also expected to fight on the card against Charles Oliveira.
