The sweepstakes to bring Wanderlei Silva to your hometown is in the books, and Eric Shipley is the lucky winner of the event.
The event, aptly titled “Bring Wanderlei Silva to Your Hometown”, was the product of the UFC and Xyience teaming up and ran from the beginning of July to the end of August. Shipley’s name was drawn at random from thousands of other entrants and will have Silva come to his hometown of Nashville, Tennessee where “The Axe Murderer” will host a live pay-per-view viewing party for UFC 119.
“When I found at that I won, I didn’t think it was real,” stated Shipley. “I’d like to thank Xyience and the UFC for the chance to introduce my friends and family to Wanderlei and the UFC.”
Xyience has been a prominent sponsor of the UFC with its logo clearly visible around the Octagon, which makes the product known to the millions of people watching UFC events and one of the more well known brands associated with the sport.
“It’s always a thrill for Xyience to connect Wanderlei to his fans,” said Xyience’s marketing directory, Jessica Hughes. “A big part of our mission at Xyience is to support the MMA community and lifestyle. Silva will make the trek to Nashville this weekend for the UFC 119 party on September 25. The private event will be hosted by the middleweight legend at McFadden’s Restaurant and Saloon.
