UFC 116 Drug Tests Come Back Negative

15 fighters out of the 22 who participated at UFC 116 at the beginning of this month underwent drug testing, and all tests have come back clean.

Nevada State Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer informed MMAjunkie.com of the results earlier today.

The main event of the Fourth of July weekend card for the promotion featured a highly-anticipated heavyweight championship clash between champion Brock Lesnar and interim champion Shane Carwin in which Lesnar secured a second round submission victory. The co-main event of the evening featured Yoshihiro Akiyama’s submission loss to late replacement Chris Leben.

All four fighters featured at the top of the card were tested for illegal substances with each man passing. In fact, every main card fighter was tested save entertaining lightweight Kurt Pellegrino, and all 11 winners from the evening were tested as well. From the preliminary card, Ricardo Romero, Daniel Roberts, Jon Madsen, Gerald Harris, Kendall Grove, and Brendan Schaub all past their respective drug tests.
