Gina Carano Set To Return To Strikeforce This Year
During Saturday’s broadcast of “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Silva” on Showtime, the promotion announced the return of female fighting sensation Gina Carano.
During a video promo, Carano said, “I just want to walk away from it knowing that I left it all in there. I left it all in the cage.”
Carano hasn’t fought since August of 2009 when she lost to Cris “Cyborg” Santos for the women’s middleweight championship. She has been pursuing acting endeavors in her time away from fighting.
A return date has not been determined, but Carano says she expects to be back in action, “soon.”
“I think I just need to settle the score with myself,” said Carano. “I need to get back in there for me.”
