Two welterweight bouts added to Brazil card
UFC 153 continues to come together, as Demian Maia vs. Rick Story and Jon Fitch vs. Erick Silva have been made official for the October event.
UFC officials announced the bouts late Tuesday.
The event takes place on October 13 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, featuring a featherweight title fight between champion Jose Aldo and top contender Erik Koch.
Both welterweight contests will likely make the main card broadcast.
Maia last competed at UFC 148, earning an early first round technical knockout victory over Dong Hyun Kim. The bout was the Brazilians UFC debut at welterweight.
Story, on the other hand, has lost two of his last three. He defeated Brock Jardine back in June, ending a disappointing two-fight losing streak.
In the other contest, Fitch also looks to regain his footing as a contender in the 170 lb. division. He last competed at UFC 141, losing to Johny Hendricks via first round knockout.
Meanwhile, Silva has been on the up-and-up in the division, regardless of a disqualification loss at UFC 142. He last competed in June, defeating Charlie Brenneman via submission.
