Fabricio Camoes Meets Tommy Hayden at UFC on FX in Nashville

Fabricio Camoes

Unbeaten Ohio-based fighter replaces Madadi

The UFC’s debut on the FX cable channel once again has a full lineup for Nashville on Friday.

UFC newcomer Tommy Hayden, from Ohio, has been tapped to fill in for Reza Madadi against Fabricio Camoes. The UFC made the new bout official Monday afternoon. The bout was first reported earlier in the day by MMA Junkie.

Hayden (8-0) is a student of Strikeforce fighter Jorge Gurgel and has five submissions and two knockouts on his resume, including a rear naked choke win over TUF 14 competitor Dustin Neace. Apart from Neace, Camoes (13-6-1, 0-1-1 UFC) will be Hayden’s most accomplished opponent.

Camoes returns to the UFC after two fights outside the promotion, both wins. He brought a seven-fight winning streak into his UFC debut at UFC 106 against Caol Uno. But he lost a point for an illegal kick to Uno’s head and had to settle for a draw. Four months later, Camoes was submitted by Kurt Pellegrino at UFC 111 and was released. But a pair of Tachi Palace Fights wins over UFC vets Steve Lopez and Steve Lopez got Camoes his return call.

UFC on FX: Guillard vs. Miller takes place next Friday at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, featuring a main event lightweight bout between recent top contenders Melvin Guillard and Jim Miller.

In addition to the main event lightweight bout between Guillard and Miller, who recently had long winning streaks snapped, UFC on FX 1 features a heavyweight bout between Pat Barry and Christian Morecraft, plus a welterweight fight featuring Josh Neer and Duane Ludwig on the main card. The UFC last visited Nashville for UFC Fight Night 18 in April 2009. That card set a then-record for attendance for a Fight Night show. The main card for the event will air live on the FX cable channel. The preliminary card will air on Fuel TV.
