42,000 tickets to be made available for UFC 129

New information is out regarding ticket sales for the UFC‘s upcoming Toronto event, and the news comes with a big number attached.

According to the promotion, approximately 42,000 tickets will be made available to fans, which would come close to the North American record of 42,757 that packed Memorial Coliseum back in 2007 for “K-1 Dynamite!! USA” in Los Angeles.

The tickets, which go on sale next month, will range in price from $50 to $800, and the promotion says that almost one-quarter of those tickets will be made available for under the $100 mark.

“We are really excited to bring a UFC event to Rogers Centre and want to create the ultimate experience for fans,” the UFC’s director of Canadian operations Tom Wright stated in today’s press release. “We are working on specialized fan zones and other unique features that will make this a can’t-miss event. With this card and the level of energy we expect inside Rogers Centre on April 30, UFC 129 is going to be off the charts.”

As Wright said today, the Rogers Centre will play host to UFC 129 on April 30. A welterweight championship tilt between Canadian superstar Georges St. Pierre and Jake Shields will take the lead of the card as the main event, while, though yet to be announced, a featherweight title bout between champion Jose Aldo and top contender Mark Hominick is expect to serve as the co-main event.
