After a year out of action because of an ankle injury, Josh Grispi will be making his return to the cage at WEC 49.
The featherweight contender announced his return on his Facebook page. Grispi (13-1 MMA, 3-0 WEC) will reportedly meet L.C. Davis (16-2 MMA, 3-0 WEC) at WEC 49.
WEC 49 takes place June 20 at Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Grispi is riding a nine-fight win streak and will be making his first appearance since defeating Jens Pulver at WEC 41. While Grispi easily disposed of Pulver in 33 seconds, he injured his ankle in that fight and was forced to have surgery.
Grispi won’t be facing an easy opponent after his year-long layoff. Davis has won four fights in a row, most recently scoring a majority-decision win over Deividas TauroseviCius at WEC 47. Davis is currently 3-0 since signing the WEC.
