Saunders, Lima make weight for welterweight main event

All but one fighter successfully made weight for tonight’s Bellator 57 event.

Alexandre Bezerra came in .4 pounds over his 146-pound limit. His bout with Doug Evans will now be contested at a catchweight of 146 pounds.

Headliner Douglas Lima needed a second attempt to make 171 pounds after coming in .4 pounds over. He’ll face former UFC star Ben Saunders to determine the next contender for champion Ben Askren’s title.

Middleweight tournament finalists Alexander Shlemenko and Vitor Vianna also made weight.

Bellator 57 takes place at Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario, Canada. The main card is televised on MTV2, while prelim bouts will stream live on Spike TV’s website.
