Cerrone, Pettis meet on Jan. 26
A lightweight match up between Donald Cerrone and Anthony Pettis finally appears to have a date.
The two are expected to meet on January 26, though the event has yet to be announced. It could, perhaps, be “UFC on FOX 6” and take place in Chicago.
MMAjunkie.com reported the news today.
Cerrone last competed against Melvin Guillard at UFC 150. He defeated his former teammate via first round knockout.
“Cowboy” is now 6-1 in the UFC and knocking on the door to a title shot and a third fight with UFC champion Benson Henderson.
Meanwhile, Pettis has been out of action for some time. He last fought at UFC 144, earning a knockout victory over Joe Lauzon. He is 2-1 since joining the UFC ranks after the WEC folded.
