Aaron Simpson Q&A Open to Public Before UFC on Fuel TV 3 Weigh-ins

Aaron Simpson

Former middleweight dropping to 170 pounds for next fight

Aaron Simpson will host a question-and-answer session prior to the official weigh-in event for UFC on Fuel TV: Korean Zombie vs. Poirier on Monday.

Pre-weigh-in Q&A sessions typically have attendance restricted to members of the UFC Fight Club. But Monday’s session will be free and open to the public, the UFC recently announced.

Monday’s weigh-ins and Q&A take place at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va., outside of Washington, D.C. The same venue also will play host to Tuesday’s fight card, which will be the UFC’s third to air live on the Fuel TV cable network.

Simpson (11-3, 6-3 UFC) had a three-fight winning streak snapped at UFC on Fuel TV: Sanchez vs. Ellenberger in February with a split decision loss to Ronny Markes. After that loss, the longtime middleweight made the decision to drop down to 170 pounds. Though it has not yet been announced or confirmed by the UFC, Simpson is expected to face Jon Fitch at UFC 149 in July.

Doors for UFC Fight Club members open at 1:30 p.m. Eastern on Monday, five minutes ahead of the general public. The Q&A starts at 2 p.m., followed by the official weigh-ins for UFC on Fuel TV 3 at 4 p.m.

UFC on Fuel TV 3 features a main event featherweight bout between “The Korean Zombie,” Chan Sung Jung, and Dustin Poirier. Both fighters are unbeaten in the UFC, and the winner could wind up getting a shot at the winner of July’s title fight between champ Jose Aldo and Erik Koch. Also on the main card, Wanderlei Silva protege Jorge Lopez takes on TUF winner Amir Sadollah and Donald Cerrone battles Jeremy Stephens.

The main card for UFC On Fuel TV airs live on Fuel at 8 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday with six fights. The preliminary card, also featuring six fights, will stream live on the UFC’s Facebook page at 5 p.m. Eastern.
