“UFC on Versus 5” draws nearly 800,000 viewers

Last Sunday’s “UFC on Versus 5” drew an average audience of 766,000 viewers on Versus.

The event, which was televised live and free, featured Chris Lytle‘s submission win against Dan Hardy in his final fight as a professional mixed martial artist. In the co-main event, Ben Henderson earned a unanimous decision victory over Jim Miller in what was arguably the former WEC champion’s most dominant performance to date.

The amount of viewers slightly edges the number “UFC on Versus 4” drew, but only by 22,000. However, it falls well short of the 1,240,000 viewers that tuned in for the promotion’s first event to be televised on the cable network.

The UFC will now wait over one month before returning to Versus with “UFC on Versus 6,” which is set for October 1. That event features a bantamweight title bout between champion Dominick Cruz and top contender Demetrious Johnson.
