Infamous Second Son

It’s been pretty quiet on the PS4 front since it first released. New multi-platform releases have landed on Sony’s next-gen console over the past couple of months, but it’s time that a first-party video game title made it’s way onto the PS4. That game comes in the form of the third game in the inFamous series, inFamous: Second Son.

Second Son introduces a new main protagonist, exciting powers and a wealth of ways to utilize those newfound powers. There’s a ton of info surrounding Sucker Punch’s latest game. Luckily, we package all that info for you one place.

Here are the top 10 facts you need to know about the next installment in this Sony exclusive action/adventure franchise.

1. The Game is Set Seven Years After the Good Ending of inFamous 2

Infamous Second Son

inFamous: Second Son places players in a new plot line that occurs seven years after the good ending that transpired in inFamous 2. The ending of inFamous 2 resulted in Cole MacGrath activating the Ray Field Inhibitor (RFI) to destroy a powerful Conduit (superhumans named for their ability to “channel” powers) named John White (“The Beast”). This event triggered the cure for the widespread Plague that was central to the plot of the game.

The explosion that resulted from the RFI activation was originally thought to have killed all Conduits across the globe. However, several of the individuals who lived outside of the blast radius or with a natural resistance survived the event. In response to the powerful Conduits and their amazing powers that were on display in Empire City, the Department of Unified Protection (DUP) is formed.

The DUP have enacted martial law and order in major cities across the United States. The DUP have also labeled Conduits as “bio-terrorists” and have set out to detain them all.

2. A New Protagonist is Taking the Place of Cole MacGrath

Infamous Second Son

21-year-old Delsin Rowe takes over the main character role of this 3rd game in the series. Delsin is an outsider who operates as graffiti artist making his way in Seattle, Washington. Seattle is currently under DUP jurisdiction, yet Delsin has no appreciation for the law (even though his brother is a man of the law). Delsin becomes a Conduit after he saves one from a bus crash. After waking up from the crash, Delsin comes into contact with his newfound powers and chooses to rebel against the government regime with his brother in tow.

3. Several New Elemental Powers are Being Implemented
