With Killer Instinct 3 joining the official roster of the 23 games being released during the Xbox One launch, Creative Director Ken Lobb announced what’s in store for the game, post-launch, which includes a future 2014 ‘Season 2’ of additional releases, as well as two distinct release packages that are separate from the vanilla game that, as a free download, includes Jago as a playable character and the basic game unlocked.

1. Combo Breaker Pack
By purchasing the combo pack, a player instantly saves 50% off the full game package, and unlocks the first round of eight characters (6 at launch, plus 2 characters before their official post-launch release). Characters in-game will cost $5 a piece, so if you were planning on unlocking the full roster, this is the package for you.

2. Ultra Edition
For the hardcore Killer Instinct fan, the Ultra edition combo pack includes everything listed in the ‘Combo Breaker Pack,’ and also comes bundled with character accessory packs and additional character costumes, as well as a playable emulation of the first Killer Instinct arcade game.

UPDATE: There’s a Third Bundle Available – Pin Ultimate Edition
For fans who really want to go all the way for a copy of the game, you may want to go ahead and pick up the Pin Ultimate Edition Pack. Available at the Microsoft Store, This version of the game will come with all the content offered with the Ultra Edition edition. Along with that content, gamers will also receive a premium case that can display all the collectible Penny Arcade pins. Two limited edition pins (Jago and the Killer Instinct logo) will come with the starter pack. New pins will become available later.
