http://media.heavy.com/gallery/hdonline-fighting-game-releases/meltyblood.jpgMelty Blood: Actress Again Current Code - Melty Blood has been around for a loooooooooooong time. It's been redone plenty of times thanks to its many updates that have been released lately. The most current edition, Melty Blood: Actress Again Current Code (whoo...) needs to hop on current consoles. Let's bring the popularity back to this fighter by letting this version prosper on PSN/XBLA. -
http://media.heavy.com/gallery/hdonline-fighting-game-releases/redearth.jpgRed Earth - Capcom shocked us when they put out that digital collection of past Dungeons & Dragons beat 'em up's. Capcom should get even more obscure with this digital release of another less known title - Red Earth. The mythological roster, dope Quest mode and fatalities could bring in new fans with an HD/online edition. -
http://media.heavy.com/gallery/hdonline-fighting-game-releases/ehrgeiz.jpgEhrgeiz - This arena-based, 3D fighter is one of the strangest fighters we've ever played. It features characters from Final Fantasy 7 and a few fighters who look quite similiar to Tekken's combatants. The game might have been a bit eccentric, but that doesn't mean it wasn't fun. We couldn't get enough of the wrestling-esque battles and wide arenas. This fighter may already be on Japanese PSN store, but it would serve a better purpose as an HD/online fighter. -
http://media.heavy.com/gallery/hdonline-fighting-game-releases/plasmasword.jpgStar Gladiator & Plasma Sword - Here's our second Capcom entry, guys. The company released two weapons-based fighters that largely got ignored. Star Gladiator and its sequel, Plasma Sword, were cool 3D fighters that maintained that fast 2D pace. Hayato and his crew of galaxy-faring rivals made for an awesome gaming experience. Both games should return to current-gen consoles and gain a new fanbase. We'd love to take this online. -
http://media.heavy.com/gallery/hdonline-fighting-game-releases/fightersmegamix.jpgFighters Megamix - So Sega went ahead and released three fighters we didn't expect to see on XBLA/PSN - Virtua Fighter 2, Fighting Vipers and Sonic The Fighters. You know there was one crossover game that put all these fighter's together, right? Fighters Megamix took Sega's greatest franchise members and threw them all into a massive fighter. Sega just needs to go ahead and add this fighter to their line of online/HD re-releases. -
http://media.heavy.com/gallery/hdonline-fighting-game-releases/tobalno2.jpgTobal No. 1 & Tobal No. 2 - Tobal No. 1 and 2 are two underrated fighters that the former Squaresoft put out on the first PlayStation. They seemed to be mix between Virtua Fighter and your favorite DragonBall Z character designs (Akira Toriyama did the art after all). Sure, these games are taking up space on the Japanese PSN store. For us North American PS3 owners, we think it would make much more sense to pack these tow up into a nice HD/online package. Tobal No. 2 by itself is a huge game, so there your's replay value right there. -
http://media.heavy.com/gallery/hdonline-fighting-game-releases/powerstone.jpgPower Stone 1 & Power Stone 2 - Power Stone 1 and 2 managed to get a nice combo release on Sony's portable console, the PSP. We loved those games on that system just as much as we loved them on the Dreamcast. They featured some cool old world characters that settled their differences in huge locales. The huge offering of usable items, plus the use of those mega powerful Power Stone's made these games stand out from the competition. Capcom could gain some new followers if they repackaged these games for a digital re-release. -
http://media.heavy.com/gallery/hdonline-fighting-game-releases/projectjustice.jpgRival Schools & Project Justice - Both of these games relied on a crazy concept - a fighting game that featured characters based on high school stereotypes. It was cool to play with characters that fit into those popular high school role definitions - the cool kids, sports jocks, school principal, student government etc. It was a pretty bold concept, but it worked thanks to the awesome graphics and insane double/triple team specials. These fighters have been away from consoles for far too long. Capcom, do us a favor and throw these two fighters online once again. The world needs to see Burning Batsu in HD. -
http://media.heavy.com/gallery/hdonline-fighting-game-releases/killerinstinct.jpgKiller Instinct & Killer Instinct Gold - Imagine our surprise when the new Killer Instinct for Xbox One showed up at E3 2013. It was an exciting moment that made our retro hearts warmer. Microsoft now has the license for this franchise, so it makes way too much sense to have the past two games in the series show up again. Killer Instinct and the Gold edition of the second game are still super fun to play till this day. XBLA summer digital promotion could be better served by an HD/online deal for these two old school fighters. -
http://media.heavy.com/gallery/hdonline-fighting-game-releases/cvs2.jpgCapcom vs. SNK 2 - Okay, so this game is available on PSN. Only problem is it's only being sold digitally as a PS2 classic. That's cool and all, but fans have made it clear that they want an online version instead. The graphics could also use a nice HD sprite cleansing, too. This tightly tuned fighter and its innovative Groove system made hardcore fans out of all of us. Ryu vs. Kyo in HD and online is our number one wish these days as fighting game fans.
