Comic Con Announces Live Action Street Fighter Series

Street Fighter turned a quarter century this year and during the anniversary panel at Comic Con, it was announced the franchise would spawn a live action series. The series tentatively titled Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist, is more or less the result of a fan made short film that was a huge hit among fans AND Capcom upon its release.

The series is due out sometime next year and will delve into the back-stories of Ryu, Ken, and other members of the SF legacy. When you think about it, it’s actually kind of surprising that it’s taken the franchise this long to put out a live action version. Street Fighter’s been around a few years longer than Mortal Kombat and that movie came out in like, ’97 or something? I guess Ryu was just bidding his time…
