EnviroBear Steel Sky Infinity Gene

Enviro-Bear 2010

Made for a TIGSource competition, this is probably the best game about bears driving cars and eating things you'll ever play. Steer your car around a bizarre 3D world gathering fish, nuts, berries and other ursine delicacies and try to not laugh uproariously at the chaos that results. Here's a tip: drive the car into a boulder to dislodge some rocks and use those rocks to hold the gas pedal down. Buy it at the App Store.

Beneath A Steel Sky Remastered

Some retro games are getting a second chance on the iPhone, and this graphical adventure from 1994 is one of the best. Taking place in a dystopian future Australia post nuclear holocaust, you play a man raised by aborigines in the Outback who must escape from corporate mercenaries and explore his new world. Features comics and animated sequences by Watchmen artist Dave Gibbons, to boot. Buy it at the App Store.

Space Invaders: Infinity Gene

This incredible trippy reboot of the arcade classic is one of the best shooters available on the system - an incredible wealth of gameplay mechanics coupled with amazing retro-futuristic graphics starts off simple and layers on new concepts, controls and weapons in a clever "evolutionary" manner. Tons of replayability and the ability to import songs from your iPhone and generate levels around them make it a must-own. Buy it at the App Store.
