Morrissey Attacked on Stage in San Jose: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

Morrissey fans are known to be quite the obsessive bunch but some people took it too far during the singer’s gig in San Jose. The British singer was knocked to the ground by a marauding fan, reports TMZ. After it all went down, his band stopped playing and the show was canceled.

1. It All Started So Well

Fans originally took to the stage to hug Moz, something he’s known to enjoy and last night was no exception he can be seen smiling as security escorted the fans from the stage. Then one fan took it too far and knocked the singer to the ground. It’s a regular thing when fans try to get on stage to embrace Morrissey,


2. Moz Was Singing the Lyrics ‘Always Be Careful When You Abuse the One You Love’

He was in the middle of singing his song “One Day Goodbye Will Be Farewell.”

3. We Don’t Know if Moz Was Hurt

It isn’t known if Morrissey suffered any injuries during the attack/fall. Nor is it known if any charges will be pressed against the stage invader.


4. He Has a Show Tonight

Morrissey is due to play in Santa Ana, California, tonight. There is no word if the show will go ahead.


5. He’s Not the First Manchester Singer to Be Attacked

Manchester singers have had bad luck in North America with stage invaders. In 2008, Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher was hurt when he was tackled by a rabid fan in Toronto, Canada.
