NXT ArRIVAL: The Results and Highlights You Need to Know

Winner: Paige!

Best Moments/Highlights: This heated rematch started off with both women tearing into each other with vicious punches, kicks and slaps. Paige tried to land the Paige Turner but got countered into a roll up pin, but Emma got out. Emma tried to set up her finisher, but Paige got out of that signature maneuver. Paige laid in some stiff kicks to Emma in the corner, but Emma caught one of her kicks and slammed Paige’s face into the mat. Emma went for the Emma Sandwich but got countered. Emma recovered and almost locked the Emma Lock on Paige. Emma kicked out Paige’s feet as she stood on the ring apron. Emma locked in the Dilemma submission hold and then followed it up with a nice Emma Sandwich on Paige, but she only got a two count. Emma tried to make Paige quite a unique looking submission hold that saw Emma holding Paige’s arms back as she stuck her feet into the back of Paige’s head. Emma lifted Paige up with her feet and applied more pressure with her submission hold. Emma then forced Paige to land face first when she propelled her with her feet on Paige’s back. Both women fought on the top rope, which led to Emma flipping over Paige. She held onto Paige and slammed her with a sitdown powerbomb for the two count. Paige hit her Paige Turner on Emma, but only got a two count. Paige then locked in her Scorpion Cross Lock on Emma and made her tap out.


Xavier Woods vs. Tyler Breeze

Winner: The match never started…

Best Moments/Highlights: Alexander Rusev came out during the bout and made his presence felt by laying out both men. Alexander put his power on display by slamming the life out of both combatants and standing in the middle of the ring as the most dominant beast and last man standing.


Bo Dallas (c) vs Adrian Neville (Ladder Match for the NXT Championship)

Winner: The NEW NXT Champion, Adrian Neville!

Best Moments/Highlights: Bo tried to leave the ring, but Neviile cut him off. Neville showed off his agility with some quick flips and even dropped Bo with a nice Missile Dropkick. Neville came back up with a sweet flip, but Bo recovered and tripped Neville to the ring mat. Bo hung up Neville on the ring ropes by his knee. Bo then went for a ladder, but he got dropkicked with the ladder to his gut by a recovered Neville. Neville then launched himself over the top rope onto Bo. Bo pushed Neviile spine first in the steel ring steps. Bo tried to launch a ladder at Neville’s head, but Neviile ducked and then back dropped Bo onto the entrance ramp. Neville climbed up a ladder for the belt, but got put down with a thrown flying ladder from Bo. Bo then used that same ladder to assault Neville’s mid-section. Bo locked Neville underneath a ladder and tried to retrieve the belt, but Neville powered out and made Bo land neck first on the ring ropes. Neville began his ascent toward the belt, but Bo pushed the ladder and made Neville collapse on the ring ropes. Bo drove another ladder into Neville’s ribs while he fell into the ring corner. Neville proceeded to spike Bo with a Tornado DDT. Bo and Neville had a stiff exchange, which led to Neville getting pushed head first into a standing ladder. The ladder then fell onto a prone Neville. Bo tried to Bulldog Neville onto a ladder, but Neville pushed Bo face first into another ladder in the corner of the ring. Bo and Neville fought on the ladder, which saw Bo smash Neville’s face into it. Neville landed a nice kick to the side of Bo’s head and then tried to land his Corkscrew Shooting Star Press. Bo pushed Neville off the top rope and onto the floor. While Bo began climbing for the belt, Neville hopped up the ladder and almost got the title for himself. Bo picked up Neville in a powerbomb position and threw him into a corner ladder. Bo tried to crash into Neville with another ladder, but Neville kicked it right into Bo’s face. Bo then got body slammed onto another ladder and Neville followed with his Corkscrew Shooting Press while Bo as laid out on that ladder. Neville then climbed up and grabbed the NXT Title.

Best Non-Match Moments/Highlights

– The NXT ArRIVAL special is being filmed outdoors
– A slew of NXT chants started up as soon as the pre-show began
– The pre-show panel includes wrestling luminaries Bret “The Hitman” Hart, Kevin Nash and Paul Heyman
– A highlight video of the WWE Performance Center was shown. It displayed all the awesome workers training and getting pumped as the NXT trainers spoke about it’s importance at great length
– A highlight video offered a look at some of the former NXT superstars who made a successful transition to the main roster – Big E, Fandango, Xavier Woods and The Wyatt Family
– The Shield did a promo on The Wyatt Family. A funny verbal slip-up occurred when Dean Ambrose mistakenly referred to the sheep mask as a camel mask instead. Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins didn’t let him live that mistake down. Reigns even admitted that he just came from the zoo and he certainly knows the visual difference between sheep and a camel
– Paul Heyman interviewed the live audience on what matches they wanted to see. The two fans Heyman surveyed answered with “EVERY MATCH!” Seems like a cop-out. They probably don’t know who’s wrestling tonight. Luckily, a number of match packages highlighted the wrestling card for the evening
– Natalya Neidhart provided some advice to Emma before her big NXT Women’s Championship match against Paige
– Tensai interviewed an intense Paige
– The “NO MORE BO! chants were chanted loud and clear
– Bo Dallas gave a pre-match promo to his loyal followers. Remember BO-lievers: “Don’t stop BO-lieving”
– General manager of NXT JBL gave a proud promo on the show and announced that Cesaro vs. Zayn is up first
– A great promo vid on Cesaro vs. Zayn showed just how awesome both men and their feud have been
– HHH started off the show with the all-too familiar “ARE YOU READY?”
– Sami Zayn came out decked in some new awesome tights that displayed his country pride
– William Regal was on hand for commentating duties
– Cesaro hugged Zayn after the excellent match. The El Generico “OLE! OLE! OLE! OLE!” chants could be heard from the crowd
– A hype promo for the hype man Mojo Rawley was shown
– A fun promo vid displayed Emma’s love for bubbles, dancing and wrestling
– A promo vid for the awesome tag team known as The Ascension was shown
– A throwback vid on Too Cool was shown to remind fans how awesome they were back during the Attitude Era. Scotty 2 Hotty rocked a baldie look for his re-appearance
– The crowd let the love for their favorite Ascension member be known with loud “WE WANT KONNOR!” chants
– A pre-match promo highlighted the dark “Anti-Diva” known as Paige
– Ric Flair could be seen sitting at ringside with his daughter Charlotte
– Stephanie McMahon addressed the live crowd before the NXT Women’s Championship Title match. The crowd chanted “YOU STILL GOT IT!” Steph answered the crowd with “I never lost it.” Steph gave her vote of confidence to the Divas of NXT
– A “BETTER THAN BATISTA!” chant started during the Paige/Emma match during a sitdown powerbomb moment
– Another “HUG IT OUT!” moment occurred as Paige and Emma showed each other some respect after their hard-fought battle
– Adrian Neville could be seen getting ready for his Ladder Match for the NXT Championship. A promo vid then displayed his awe-inspiring high flying abilities
– NXT was announced as now being shown on the WWE Network every Thursday at 9 p.m. EST on the WWE Network
– Pat Patterson and Dusty Rhodes could be seen in the live crowd
– A promo vid showed off just how much a overconfident jerk Bo Dallas could be
– Larry Zbyszko could be seen in the live crowd
– A exciting promo vid for the NXT Ladder Match was shown
– Shawn Michaels entered the NXT arena before the NXT Ladder Match. He spoke to the live crowd and addressed the everyone on coming out of retirement. He decided that he was still going to enjoy the retired life. The crowd chanted “-H-B-SHIZZLE!,” which prompted Shawn to ask for a “H-B-SHIZZLE” shirt to be made. The “YES!” chants came shortly thereafter. He gave a cheap plug to the crowd on his new DVD/Blu-Ray. His kids are going to college and he needs the money. Shawn held the prestigious NXT Title in his hands
– John Cena stood up in the live crowd and gave his appreciation to the new NXT Champion
