‘Bachelor’ Castoff Says She Was Set Up to Fail

The most awkward moment on The Bachelor‘s season premiere — and possibly in the history of the show’s rose ceremony — is when Kylie Lewis thought she heard her name and walked up to accept a rose than wasn’t meant for her.

As you can see in the uncomfortable video below (starting at the 4:31 mark), Bachelor Juan Pablo said, “Kat,” very clearly, but for some reason, Kylie thought it sounded like her name. Juan Pablo cringed, because he knew she was one of the nine women being kicked out of the mansion on the first night. Obviously flustered, Kylie then said, “Can you take both of us?”

Lewis, a 23-year-old from Illinois, dished to TMZ that the show’s producers ultimately set her up to be sent home.

One of their requests, that she followed, was to dye her strawberry-blonde hair to red. This made her stand out among the contestants as the only redhead.

An artist, Lewis had drawn a picture of Juan Pablo, which she wanted to present to him. Instead, she said producers coerced her to send this vapid tweet out after their first meeting:

The day of the broadcast, Lewis thanked viewers for their support by tweeting:
