A ball will drop near Miley Cyrus, but this time it isn't her usual "Wrecking Ball." The singer has once again shocked her fans. She alerted the world that she will perform in Times Square for the iconic ball drop ceremony, Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve.

Her announcement on the morning of December 12th, coincided with host of the event, Ryan Seacrest, leaking the news on Jimmy Kimmel Live . "We try and look for the artist that created a lot of buzz and had a really big year," he said. Kimmel joked that her scant attire will not be conducive to the outdoor setting. "She's going to die on the show. She's at least going to get frostbite of some kind," Kimmel said.
The 21-year-old was supposed to be at the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach, Florida with Pharrell Williams. To thank the famous resort for the offer, she tweeted:

Entertainment Weekly reported that Cyrus is among the first of the Times Square performers to be announced, and West Coast performers include Ariana Grande, Capital Cities, Daughtry, and The Fray, Robin Thicke, Jason Derulo, Enrique Iglesias, Jason Derulo, Fall Out Boy, Florida Georgia Line and Jennifer Hudson.
