Rapper Eminem's childhood home caught fire yesterday and was severely burned. The former house of Eminem is located close to 8 Mile Road in Detroit, Michigan. According to TMZ, the 767 square foot, 2 story bungalow had a great deal of damage to the second floor of the home, but fire crews were able to put out the fire before it spread.

Apparently, the fire began at approximately 6:20pm on Thursday night, but the cause of the fire has not yet been determined. TMZ reports:

Public records show the home was bought by Em's mom in 1987 for $19,900 -- it's changed hands roughly 10 times since then. The home was eventually abandoned, and after failing to sell for $500 at a recent auction, it's currently owned by a bank.
