Directed by Jon Turteltaub, behind movies such as National Treasure, The Kid, and Rocketman (1997), Last Vegas looks like a happy old timer’s re-visit to the genre that The Hangover may or may not have invented, but almost certainly perfected. Looks like a bunch of fun character antics enjoying the Vegas charm in this Hollywood formula that proves “don’t fix it if it ain’t broke.”
What caught us most off guard was De Niro sweating his stuff all manly like and pushing people into pools, and generally, being a very aggressive de Niro. Seems a bit out of range for his relative age, but he’s pulling it off well. Wow, he did Taxi Driver! Look forward to the release of Last Vegas on November 1st, 2013.
